AJAX DOWNS, MONDAY, MAY 27, 2024 - Ajax Downs' popular Battle of the Breeds race series continues Wednesday, May 29 on the fourth day of the track's 2024 Quarter Horse season. The Battle of the Breeds pits Thoroughbreds against Quarter Horses in a 'hook' race and after two events, including one this year on May 15 won by the Thoroughbred Summer Retreat, the score is tied between the two breeds.

AJAX DOWNS, MAY 23, 2024 - It was a memorable day at Ajax Downs for owner JOHN WILSON of New Liskeard, ON as two fillies he purchased last fall to race in Ontario both won on May 22 including RBYBYBABY who said so long to her rivals in the $30,240 OPEN DERBY for 3-year-olds. In the previous race, Wilson's EXPEDIANT won the MAYOR'S CUP, sponsored by the Town of Ajax's mayor, SHAUN COLLIER.

AJAX DOWNS, MAY 7, 2024 - Hold on to your hats, the Quarter Horses are back! AJAX DOWNS opens its 55th racing season on Wednesday, May 8 with its first of 25 racing dates at the popular fan-friendly racetrack. First race post time on opening day is 1:30 p.m. and racing will be held each Wednesday except for the 'special event' Sundays each month in the summer and Thanksgiving Monday, October 14.

The Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the election of Bill Ford as President for 2024. Mr. Ford, an executive with Woodbine Entertainment since 2011, and currently their Chief Racing Officer and General Counsel, has been a Director of the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame for the past two years representing Racetracks Canada.

AJAX DOWNS, MAY 8, 2024 - In front of a big crowd of enthusiastic racing fans, the fast filly A RUSHN LILY sped to victory in the first race of the 2024 Quarter Horse season at Ajax Downs on Wednesday. Owned by the relatively new Five Fillies Stable including trainer Chantelle Bourgeois, A Rushn Lily sped away from heavily favoured General Skywalker, to win the curtain raiser by a length under jockey Cassandra Jeschke.
