Top national feed industry event features newest research, networking and more.
February 27, 2025 - Ottawa, ONTARIO — Advances in animal nutrition research are generating exciting opportunities for the livestock and feed sector.
Participants from across the animal nutrition industry will learn about the latest developments under the theme “Practical opportunities to navigate the future of feed” at the 9th annual Animal Nutrition Conference of Canada (ANCC), from May 7-9 in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
The event is hosted by the Animal Nutrition Association of Canada (ANAC). Registration is now open at www.animalnutritionconference.ca.
An exciting program
“We are pleased to host this event in beautiful Niagara Falls to once again provide an exceptional learning and networking opportunity, bringing together diverse stakeholders,” says Holly McGill, ANCC Program Chair.
The ANCC program features a combination of leading speakers, broad academic research and technical sessions showcasing the latest research in monogastric and ruminant nutrition.
“Our program is designed to provide valuable insights, perspectives and knowledge to help our sector become more efficient, profitable and sustainable while preparing for the future,” says McGill. “It offers something for everyone with a special focus on practical opportunities that make a real difference at the feed mill and on the farm.”
Connect, network and learn with the feed industry
“Today there are many changes, both current and on the horizon, with potential to impact the animal nutrition and feed sector and the broader animal agriculture industry it serves,” notes Mike Leslie, Vice-Chair of ANAC’s Nutrition Committee.
“ANCC serves an important role in bringing our sector together to share knowledge on the latest developments and how we can support the success of our industry in this new landscape. The opportunity to meet face to face with people from across our industry, from across the country, all in one place, is a highlight of the year for many of our ANAC members,” states Leslie.
The learning kicks off with a pre-conference symposium on key advancements such as monitoring and verification technologies, nutrient optimization, and gut health. The opening plenary session will deliver fresh insights on promising frontiers such as regulation of digestion kinetics, a shared future for companion and farm animal nutrition management, use of machine learning and more. Two concurrent sessions will showcase the latest monogastric and ruminant specific research, concluding with a closing plenary in which ANAC will host a round table discussion on Canada’s newly updated Feeds Regulations, 2024. Full program details are now available on the conference website.
Partner with the ANCC and showcase your business
Interactions at the ANCC help set the stage for ongoing cooperation, collaboration and progress throughout the year, says Elyas Tesfaye, ANCC Sponsorship Chair. “The strong sponsorship support our conference enjoys is a reflection of the importance of these interactions. There are many opportunities to support our event and one another, to generate momentum to keep our industry striving forward.”
Sponsorship opportunities are still available, including participation in the industry partner showcase and exclusive sponsorship of a conference speaker. Like last year, industry partners are invited to sponsor both ANAC events — the ANCC and the AGM & Convention — for additional benefits.
Graduate student opportunities
The event also features various opportunities for graduate student participation, including the return of the Up-and-Coming Research Mini Presentations, where students highlight the value and potential impact of their upcoming research to industry.
“The conference serves as a hub of the latest relevant knowledge from our academic and student communities,” says Katie Wood, ANCC Academic Chair. “The experiences it offers for our graduate students are invaluable – by introducing these students to our broader animal nutrition community and industry, offering unique high-impact networking and career building opportunities they simply wouldn’t get anywhere else.”
