Both the dressage and eventing teams earned their spots for Paris 2024 at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

PARIS (July 26, 2024) – On Friday, the Canadian Olympic Committee announced updates to the previously announced roster of Team Canada equestrian dressage athletes nominated to compete at Paris 2024.

The changes are:

Jill Irving and Delacroix will not be moving forward with their team placement. They will be replaced with the earlier named travelling alternate athlete combination of Chris Von Martels and Eclips. It was determined near the end of the pre-Games training camp that Delacroix would not be fit to compete and the decision was made in the best interest of the horse to withdraw him from competition.

Due to the fifth combination declining travel to pre-Games staging, and logistical challenges prohibiting the sixth ranked combination to get from North America to the staging camp in France in time for competition, the decision was made to move to the seventh ranked rider horse combination. Jill Irving and Genesis are being named as traveling alternates and will join the team in Paris.

Due to personal reasons, the original Team Chef d’Equipe and Team Manager Christine Peters will now be replaced by Olympian Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu who will assume the roles and support Team Canada riders on the ground.
