The BGRA will take its VR ‘Drive to Win’ Experience to the event.

On Sunday, May 5 the Bill Galvin Racing Alliance (BGRA) will take part in the Matthews House Hospice fundraising event, ‘Hike for Hospice.”

The BGRA will take its VR ‘Drive to Win’ Experience to the event and provide opportunities for all hikers and their family members to see what it’s like to drive in a real harness race.

This marks the 15th annual Hike for Hospice event and this year’s hike will take place at Standardbred owner-breeder Marv Chantler’s Mardon Stables in Loretto.

“We are delighted to be attending this event,” said Karen Hauver, Founding Director of the BGRA. “Marv (Chantler) has been a strong supporter of the BGRA, and this event offers us the opportunity to generate awareness of our Youth Contests and introduce the general public to Ontario harness racing.”

There are three different distances for the hike: Walker (1km, suitable for all abilities), Hiker (2.5km, on a trail), and Adventurer (5km, on a trail). Complimentary lunch will be provided.

The family friendly day offers something for everyone including fire truck tours, fire education courtesy of the Adjala-Tosorontio Fire Department, live entertainment, kids activities and a meet and greet with the farm animals.

Opening ceremonies take place at 9:30 a.m. and will be followed by the hike and lunch.

Registration is required for all at no cost. Click here to register and for more information on the Hike for Hospice event.
