The event was due to host three days of CSI 5* show-jumping competitions under the glass roof of the Grand Palais.
The house of Hermès has taken note of the French ministerial decree of 9 March 2020 prohibiting gatherings of more than 1,000 people. Consequently, the eleventh Saut Hermès at the Grand Palais, due to take place in Paris from 20 to 22 March 2020, is cancelled.
In the context of the exceptional current public health situation, Hermès is obliged to cancel the Saut Hermès at the Grand Palais 2020. The event, which has been an unmissable fixture in the international equestrian calendar for more than ten years, was due to host three days of CSI 5* show-jumping competitions under the glass roof of the Grand Palais.
The house is conscious of the impact of competition schedule changes on athletes’ preparations just a few weeks before the FEI World Cup™ final and four months before the Olympic Games, and would like to assure all riders and their entourages of its support.
Hermès would like to thank the loyal and enthusiastic public that has been present at the Grand Palais every year since 2010, as well as all the teams and its long-standing partners GL events, the Ville de Paris, and the Rmn – Grand Palais, who work hard to stage the event.
“This decision, imposed by the current situation, does not in any way detract from our attachment to equestrian competition nor from our commitment to the world’s leading international show-jumpers, whom we invite to return in 2021. Bringing together a community of equestrian enthusiasts in the centre of Paris continues to be close to our heart,” states Axel Dumas, CEO of Hermès.
